Discover the heritage of the "châteaux" between Argentière and La Pascalette, and the people who commissioned and designed these remarkable buildings.

About

The districts of Les Bormettes, L'Argentière and La Pascalette are home to four châteaux with very different functions and architecture, but with a shared history, linked to the Domaine des Bormettes and the family of Marseille industrialist Victor Roux. Let's set off on an outdoor discovery of this remarkable heritage, its patrons and its creators: the Carthusian monks of La Verne (Collobrières), Horace Vernet, official painter of the History of France in the 1st half of the 19th century, Victor Roux and his descendants, as well as the Hyèrois architect Victor Trotobas and the Toulon architect Gaudensi Allar. We'll also be pushing open the door of the Château des Bormettes winery to visit the old 18th-century mill, and that of Château de La Pascalette to discover the restoration of the main rooms and the old underground wine cellar.

Duration: 2hrs 15mins (including 10mins by car)
Distance on foot: 2km
Visit in two stages requiring a private vehicle

Please bring trainers or comfortable shoes
Please bring a jacket for the visit to the winery (temperature around 16°C)
